Brass Jewelry Making | Egypt

Ancient Egyptians placed great significance on jewelry. They wore it not only as beautiful accessories, but primarily as a talisman as it was believed to provide protection from disease, ward off evil or bring good fortune.

Brass was one of the alloys that Ancient Egyptians knew and used going back to about 30 B.C. Many centuries later, this craft is still preserved by talented artisans who were passed down this age-old tradition.

Dandarah partners with artisans in Historic Cairo to offer ethically handmade brass jewelry.
