This handcrafted glass ornament depicts one of the native tree species of Egypt, the date palm, which adorns the banks of the Nile river, the desert oasis and the seashores of Egypt, and which fruits have been harvested by Egyptians for thousands of years. In some cultures, palm trees are symbols of prosperity and triumph.
Artfully created by skilled glass blowers in the heart of old Cairo, Egypt. The art of glass blowing began in Egypt at least in the 3rd Century A.D. based on a poem written on papyrus that describes the technique.
