The Process

Glass bottles and jars are collected from various sources. The collected glassware is carefully washed and upcycled using simple techniques in a small factory near Cairo.

Skilled craftswomen use heat to mark the desired height and then hand-cut the glass to create the stunning pieces. According to the roughness of the rim, each piece is meticulously ground and polished on a spinning wheel with grinding discs, ensuring a smooth and even finish.

Depending on the design, the piece may remain elegantly plain or be beautifully decorated and sandblasted for added charm.
